The barbecue is close to becoming a regular household term these days. For the individual who has been a veteran in the art of barbecuing, these recipes are a treasure trove. The true capabilities of a barbecue grill are exercised and tested to the limit in many of these recipes, providing unbelievably exquisite results. For an amateur in the field of barbecuing, the number of ingredients that can be included in a barbecue might come as a surprise. In areas where seafood is common, barbecues can also be used to prepare excellent dishes using seafood as the primary or base ingredient.

Burgers, kebabs and roasts are among the most popular barbecue recipes. Kebabs were originally recognized as exclusively Indian tandoori preparations. However, they have come to be adapted as dishes that can be prepared using barbecue grilles or smokers as well.

As a general trait of most barbecue preparations, each barbecue recipe can be seasoned by the addition of specific condiments to for not just seasonal, but also regional variations in the preparation. Recipes are generally classified into different categories not just according to whether they are vegetarian or non-vegetarian, or according to their base ingredient.

Barbecue recipes are also classified according to the variations observed in them from region to region. The addition of special touches and barbecuing conventions make each variation unique from the rest.
