In 1968, a man named Floyd (aka Sonny) Tillman and his wife founded Sonnys Barbecue. Little did they know how popular their enterprise would become! The Tillmans wanted to bring real, authentic smokehouse barbecue to the masses, and that's exactly what they did. By 1977, Sonnys was so popular that the Tillmans decided to sell franchises. These days, Sonnys Barbecue is the largest chain of barbecue restaurants in the nation, offering over 150 locations all over the United States.
